Cycling BC’s 2018 Elite Sportsperson of the Year Signs with 303 Project

Alex Amiri, of Mill Bay, BC is off to Europe to race for the 303 Project Pro Cycling Team who called him up earlier this spring with an invite to join the team for the remainder of the season. Alex’s most recent meet up with the 303 Project was at the 34th edition of the Tour de Beauce in late June where he placed 26th overall while riding for the Cycling BC team. The 303 Project also had some success at the Tour de Beauce with their rider, Griffin Easter, taking the win on the 4th stage.

The 303 Project is a U.S.-based team that will have a number of races in Europe this summer in which Alex will race including the Tour of Sibiu (Romania) on July 3-7, Prueba Villafranca- Ordiziako Classica in Spain on July 25th, and the Curcuito de Getxco on July 31.

Alex has been making a name for himself on the race circuit and people are starting to notice his athletic ability. Alex was voted by the Cycling BC community as the ‘Elite Male Sportsperson of the Year’ in 2018 and was the 2018 BC Provincial Champion in Elite Men’s Road Race

This will be Alex’s first time racing in Europe and Cycling BC wishes him all the best this summer.
